BOOK A LIFE SAVING MAMMOGRAM TODAY
Did you know, one in seven women in NSW will develop breast cancer in their lifetime?
Key risks factors for developing breast cancer are being female and getting older. What’s more 9 out of 10 women diagnosed with breast cancer do not have a family history.
The BreastScreen NSW program is free and specifically designed for women aged 50 to 74 years. Women are recommended to have a breast screen every two years. Mammograms (also called breast screens) can detect very small breast cancers before they can be seen or felt. By detecting breast cancer early, mammograms not only save lives but also reduce the likelihood of a woman needing invasive treatment, such as a mastectomy or chemotherapy.
That’s why mammograms are so important.
An appointment with BreastScreen NSW is free and will take around 20 minutes. BreastScreen NSW provides services to over 200 locations across NSW, including in rural and remote areas.
If you’re aged 50 to 74, we urge you to book a free breast screen today. Visit breastscreen.nsw.gov.au to search for your nearest BreastScreen NSW service. It’s easy to book online or by calling 13 20 50.
