Community Group 1:

Hills Community Aid (HCA)
HCA works to create safe, healthy, connected and inclusive communities. Through its supported early years playgroup programs, HCA plays an in important role in preparing children (0-5), including those with special needs, for their transition to school.

HCA will use funds awarded to purchase much needed playgroup resources such as books, learning aids and toys for its supported playgroup programs.


Community Group 2:

Sanctuary



The Sanctuary is a newly-established and desperately needed Shelter for women and their children, escaping domestic violence in North-Western Sydney (Hills District).

These funds will assist with immediate crisis assistance to women and children in their first 24 hours in The Sanctuary.


Community Group 3



The Ponds School

The Ponds School caters for students with moderate or severe intellectual disabilities, many having additional disabilities such as Autism, physical or sensory disabilities and emotional disturbances.

This grant will allow us to purchase equipment switches that attach to voice output devices enabling our students who are non-verbal to have a voice.  These switches also allow students to interact with specialised software on the computer or modified equipment such as toys or even appliances such as popcorn makers and milkshake makers, providing an engaging and accessible learning activity.
